The molds for the plates and platters are based on antique china sets that belonged to the artist's grandmother, such as Haviland Limoges and Spode. The contrast of their romantic shapes and the rustic quality of hand built ceramics is part of her effort to make pieces that feel like contemporary heirlooms.
